Frequently Asked Questions
Storage Questions
- Does West 50 Storage provide a lock for my locker?
- You can bring your own or we can sell you a very high quality lock that is more secure than virtually any lock you’ve used before – industry professionals such as West 50 Storage use them for their own purposes.
- What do I need to bring with me when I come in to rent a locker or parking space?
Your first month’s rent, driver’s license, and proof of ownership if parking a vehicle – IT’S THAT SIMPLE!
- Is there anything I am not permitted to do with or store in my locker?
The locker can only be used to store personal property - customers cannot operate a business out of a locker, and no person or animal can live in the locker. In addition, it is unlawful to store hazardous material, any kind or waste, perishable materials, ammunition, etc. This is a representative list of prohibitions - please refer to the Rental Agreement for greater detail.
- Does West 50 Storage insure the belongings in my locker?
No – you are responsible for insuring your belongings, which is commonly included in homeowner’s or renter’s insurance. If you have neither or desire additional insurance, West 50 Storage can arrange for you to purchase insurance for your belongings from a third party provider.
-
Is there a minimum amount of time I can rent a locker or outdoor space?
-
All agreements are month-to-month and can be canceled at any time with 10 days notice. We do not prorate your rent if you move out in the middle of the month, and if you prepay for 12 months you receive the 13th month free!
- Does anyone else have access to my locker?
You may designate someone else to have access to your locker if you wish, but otherwise nobody but you can enter your locker unless there is a fire or other such emergency.
